I am D.M.Scott, a U.S.M.C. Combat Veteran turned Surf Photographer and Cinematographer. I specialize in capturing the essence of surf culture and its therapeutic power, particularly for veterans and those struggling with trauma. My unique perspective comes from my own combat experience and my deep connection to the ocean, which has been a source of healing and refuge for me. I aim to tell compelling stories through my lens, highlighting the intersection of surfing, faith, resilience, and community.
Through my work, I collaborate with surf therapy organizations, surf brands and create films that celebrate the lives and journeys of surfers, veterans, and advocates. Through every frame, my goal is to capture moments that inspire, heal, and remind us what it feels like to truly be alive.
